Suspected Oil Thieves Attack Military Facility At Nembe Jetty -DHQ


The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) on Saturday said suspected oil bunkers attacked its location at Nembe Jetty, near Ogolomabiri Community in Bayelsa State in the early hours of Saturday.

Colonel Rabe Abubakar, the Acting Director of Defence Information, confirmed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, obtained by the Street Journal.

He said that the incident was being investigated, and the Joint Task Force Operation PULO SHIELD, had swung into action to arrest the suspects.

Abubakar said: “The military will deal decisively with anybody or group involved in this and similar acts of attacks or sabotage on the nation’s economy.’’

According to Abubakar, the Defence Headquarters is reiterating its commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and properties of innocent citizens nationwide.

He urged residents of the community to cooperate with the military by giving prompt information to them and other security agencies to avert future re-occurrence of the ugly incidence.
