The Police Headquarters in Yola capital, city of Adamawa State, is said to have experienced a blast Thursday afternoon.
The devastating blast was said to have ripped through the hadquarters of the Anti-bomb unit of the Nigeria Police in Yola.
Witnesses said that many corpses of policemen and civilians were lying in the premises in the aftermath of the blast.
It is not yet known what caused the explosion or number of people dead.
Adamawa is one of the North East states that is hotbed for Boko Haram insurgents that have killed thousands of people through suicide bombing.
