The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States for September10 and November 26, 2016.
INEC’s Deputy Director in charge of Voter Education and Publicity, Mr. Nick Dazang, made the dates known Thursday.
Dazang said Edo would vote in their governor on September 10, while Ondo State would go to the poll on November 26.
The tenures of the governors of the two states; Adams Oshiomhole and Olusegun Mimiko end this year. They are serving out their two term tenures.
With this announcement political activities would rise considerably especially in putting in place primaries that produce candidates for the contesting parties.
