The Public Relations Officer of 28 Task Force Brigade Mubi in Adamawa, Capt A.O. Fadare, has said some of the women abducted by insurgents in Madagali had been rescued.
He did not say how of the women were rescued.
Sixteen people, including, 14 women and two girls, were abducted by suspected Boko Haram members, Wednesday, in Madagali area of Adamawa State, when they went to fetch firewood in the forest around Sabongari village of Madagali.
Fadare said that soldiers rescued the women while pursuing the insurgents.
Fadare said he was still trying to verify the situation.
“I am still trying to verify from Madagali as you know, the operation is still on,” Fadare said.
