A 42-year-old man, Erabor Esosa, has been allegedly beheaded by his neighbour, Victor Osazuwa, in Benin City, Edo State, over faeces.
The incident which occurred last Sunday, at house No. 9, Ukhegie Lane, off TV Road, during an altercation over faeces.
Report had it that the victim was clearing the grass in an uncompleted building when his assailant cut off his head with a cutlass.
Trouble reportedly started when the deceased saw his neighbour, Victor, emerged from the bushy uncompleted building which he was clearing, and enquired from him what he went to do inside the building.
It was further gathered that Victor replied that he went to defecate, a reply that angered the victim who told his neighbour to go and park the faeces as he was going to clear the entire bushy compound.
The assailant was said to have refused and instead requested the victim to hand over his cutlass to him so that he could clear the area he defecated on.
It was learnt that following another round of argument that ensued shortly after the deceased surrendered his cutlass, Victor allegedly beheaded him with the weapon.
Though spokesman for Edo State Police Command, DSP Osifo Abiodun could not confirm the incident, a source at the Command said the suspect, Victor, has been arrested by opperatives from Oba Market Police Division who also recovered the weapon
Meanwhile, the corpse of the victim is said to have been deposited at the Central Hospital morgue in Benin City.
