Don’t Take Lightly Senate’s Impreachment Threat Against Buhari, Oshiomhole Cautions Nigerians


Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has cautioned Nigerians not to take the alleged plan by the Senate to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari, lightly, saying it was a case of corruption fighting back
The Governor said this in Benin on Saturday at the party’s official flagged off of gubernatorial election campaign, coming up in September this year.
He said the impeachment threat was because the President was determined to rid the nation of corruption and those opposed to him were not comfortable.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Godwin Obasek, promised to create over 200,000 new jobs across the state within four years in office when elected.
The APC candidate made the promised in his acceptance speech shortly after being presented with the party’s flag by the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin-City.
Obaseki said the jobs will be created through agriculture, entrepreneurship skills, attraction of investment for the development of industries, technical and vocational skills development.
He disclosed that over 150,000 of the jobs will be created through agricultural sector alone.
He disclosed that his administration will publish a template of its policies for the people state citizens to track along with the civil societies.
The APC governorship candidate explained that his administration agricultural’s development model will reposition agriculture from subsistence farming to that of being a business.
He also promised to make the state the agricultural hub of the country while many people will generate wealth by embracing and keying into his government value chains development of oil palm, cassava, cocoa, rubber, fruits and vegetable.
He further promised to develop industries noting that the state as at today was positioned to generate 20 percent of the electricity in the country.
Obaseki assured that electricity will be made available in order to attract industries in the next four years, make entrepreneurship a way of life, invest in the state’s technical and vocational schools in order to sustain and specialize in the area like agriculture, building, fabrication, hospitality and food sciences.
While promising to consolidate on the achievements of the Adams Oshiomhole- led government, he assured that he and his running mate will not disappoint the people of the state when elected.
Obaseki who called on eligible electorate to cast their vote for the party in the forthcoming September 10 noted that he led a team of highly dedicated professionals in the Oshiomhole government in the last seven and half years as the chairman of the Economic and Strategy Team.
He pointed out that his sole motivation was to bring back to the state having benefitted immensely from the best education, training and discipline training the state can offer.
He explained that he had trained and worked in Nigeria and Overseas as well as helped other state governments grew their economics and provided strategic services for corporate bodies to grow their businesses while created opportunities for employment and manpower development.
In a goodwill message, the Chairman of APC Governors’ Forum, Rochas Okoroacha said they were in the state to endorse the candidacy of Godwin Obaseki and ensure he emerged victorious in the the election.
