There are indications that the kidnapped pupils of Junior Government Model College, Epe, Lagos, including the Vice Principal and a teacher have regained freedom.
The Vice Principal, a teacher and four students of the College were kidnapped last week from their premises by a gang of kidnappers, who stormed the school during morning assembly and went away with the students and teachers.
Their abductors had on Monday given parents and the school authorities a 48 hour Ultimatum, till Wednesday, to pay up the ransom demanded.
According to reports, the victims were released at about 10.30pm, Tuesday, in yet to be ascertained circumstances.
Although it was yet to be confirmed, it was gathered that the family of one abducted student who was sick, had paid N1m ransom as requested by the kidnappers. It was also gathered that the other families did not pay any ransom.
The Police has confirmed the release, but are yet to make a formal statement.
