The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has appealed to the Nigerian Police, to unravel the circumstances surrounding the murder of Gombe United defender, Douglas Umar.
It tasked the police to fish out the killers.
Uzama was killed in Benin City on December 29, 2016 by suspected cultiss, who called him out from his home and shot him in the neck.
The former Nigeria youth international, had travelled to celebrate the Yuletide with his family and was shot dead by suspected cultists.
NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, says the federation is in deep grief over his death.
“Only two months ago, we had a similar case of a player of Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan (Izu Joseph) who was murdered in cold blood in Rivers State,” he said.
“We are really worried about this trend and we use this opportunity to call on the Police to hunt down and arrest the killers of Uzama, as well as intensify efforts in their search for the killers of Izu Joseph.”
