PDP Crisis: I Have No Pact With Sheriff – Makarfi

The two principal actors in the leadership crisis that has dogged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for sometime now, seem not be ready to sheath their swords despite the resolution by party elders to seek a political solution to the crisis. The chairman of the National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi said he would only accept ‎conditions that are “legally watertight and acceptable to all organs of the party.” His counterpart, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, however, called on Makarfi and other PDP members to join him in rebuilding the PDP. Sheriff and Makarfi spoke Wednesday at different fora. The Caretaker Committee chairman in a statement by his media aide, Mukhtar Zubairu Sirajo,‎ denied media reports that he had accepted offers made to him by Sheriff as a precursor to the reconciliation process.
