Two Naval officers, Captains Olotu Morakinyo and Ebony Aneke, are to temporarily forfeit their landed properties located in the upscale Lekki area of Lagos.
The properties are to be temporarily forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
A Federal High Court in Lagos made the order on Wednesday after entertaining an ex-partt application from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In the application, the anti-graft agency alleged that the naval officers, who were attached to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency as Guard Commanders, acquired the properties with proceeds of crime.
The anti-graft agency listed the properties as a three-bedroom terrace duplex, located at Lekki Gardens Limited Phase 4 Lekki-Ajah and a five-bedroom duplex in Lekki, Lagos.
Apart from the houses, the court also ordered the temporary forfeiture of N11,040, 000 found in the bank account of a company, Lakewood Garden Ventures Limited, said to be linked to Aneke and his sister, Jimmie.
Justice Muslim Hassan, after ordering the temporary forfeiture of the assets, gave anyone interested in them 14 days to appear before him to show cause why the assets should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
The EFCC is tto publish the order in a national newspaper to give interested parties benefit of knowing.
The matter was adjourned till April 16, 2018.
