News making rounds that guidelines have been released for the resumption of flights in Nigeria, has been debunked by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
In a press statement issued by the FAAN General manager on Corporate Affairs, Henrietta Yakubu, the agency urged the public to disregard the guidelines referring to it as “fake”
The Street Journal reports that a statement signed by one Tayo Olu on Saturday, May 16 stating that guidelines have been released for air travellers through FAAN was released and in circulation.
FAAN urged the general public with special reference to air travellers to disregard such information.
“We want to state emphatically that although FAAN is carefully and seriously working on a guideline, the release did not emanate from us as it is still a work in progress,” the agency declared
The agency said that the resumption of flights is still under consideration by the authorities concerned and the public will be notified through official channels, when the guideline is ready.
