Fani-Kayode Sues Popular Blogger Who Broke News Of His Alleged Separation From Current Wife, Precious Chikwuendu

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, on Thursday, moved to sue a popular blogger, Stella Dimoko Korkus, over an allegation that he has separated from his current wife, Precious Chikwendu.

According to the blogger, Fani-Kayode’s triplet sons may not have been fathered by him as they were conceived through IVF and Chikwendu had demanded a DNA test.

The blogger also alleged that the marriage crashed majorly due to the domestic violence dealt to Precious.

However, in a reaction, Mr Adeola Adedipe, Fani-Kayode’s lawyer, in a letter, denied the allegations and demanded N2bn for defamation of his client’s image.

The letter read in part:

‘Defamation of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode- Re: Femi Fani-Kayode and Precious Chikwendu Part Ways Over Alleged Domestic Violence’.

“Our client is aggrieved and has instructed us to draw your attention to these libellous breaches of his person and family. By this publication, our client has received denigrating phone calls and messages across the globe by virtue of which he now sufferers immeasurable loss of goodwill.

“However, he is inclined to draw a curtain over the wild and spurious claims if you retract the allegations on the same platform they were published and consequently apologise to him in two other national dailies.

“You are also advised to enter into negotiations with us for the sum of two billion naira (N2bn) only being a token amount for penitence. Please bear in mind that you have 14 days from receipt of this letter to comply with the highlighted mitigating measures, the failure of which will leave our client with no preferred alternative than to seek redress in court.”

Meanwhile, The Street Journal had reported that one of Fani-Kayode’s friends, Deji Adeyanju, had in a tweet which has now been deleted, alleged that Precious Chikwendu had spiritual problems and she ran away from a mental home.

Deji took to Twitter to ask Precious when and how did Fani-Kayode abuse her, if the abuse happened when she was pregnant or when her siblings and family members were living. He said her family members were always around in his home.

Deji who claimed to be close to the couple said he has been in the know on many of their quarrels in the past which he had even been invited to resolve several times and it was never about domestic abuse.

Deji also stated that Fani-Kayode has done everything for Precious from supporting her beauty pageantry with about $500,000 at the start of their relationship to standing by her when she had several surgeries. He also claimed Fani-Kayode took care of the medical bills of her parents who were battling with cancer amongst several other things.

Deji stated that Precious Fani-Kayode knows where her problems are coming from and they are spiritual. Deji advised her to seek the face of God instead of chasing shadows. He also stated that the fact that she has survived this long is a testimony.

Deji recalled when Mrs Precious agreed to be checked into a mental home because of her mental issues and how she consequently ran away from the mental home.

Although Fani-Kayode has been alleged by his previous wives of domestic violence, Deji tweeted that he cannot speak on that because he wasn’t a part of it but on the issue of Fani-Kayode and Precious, Deji reiterated that it is not about domestic violence because she has never raised this issue, nor her family members that stay with them at home, or at any time when he went to settle issues between she and her husband.

Deji recounted how Mrs Precious had lost her mind on several occasions and even attacked her husband and other domestic staff with a knife.

Although Deji subsequently deleted all the tweets, he, however, left several new tweets advising young people to stay away from toxic and crazy people and that marriage is not mandatory for all. We, however, gathered that Deji deleted his original tweets after Fani-Kayode called him to do so saying no one should join issues with her publicly.
