Protests Over Bogotá Police Killing Leave Seven Dead

BOGOTÁ, Colombia—At least seven people died amid protests that swept this capital overnight, authorities said Thursday, after policemen killed a man while repeatedly firing a stun gun at him as he pleaded for his life in an encounter caught on video.

Javier Ordoñez, a 46-year-old cabdriver, was seen squirming, his shirt ripped, as two officers pinned him to the street Wednesday in footage that Colombian media broadcast nationally.
