Clarisse is accused of making her two-year-old son smoke a vape pen containing THC oil because she thought it would make him eat and sleep better

According to an affidavit in support of an arrest warrant, the case began unfolding on November 6, after the father of Clarisse’s son was contacted by her ex-girlfriend, telling him that she witnessed the mother giving marijuana to their child.

The ex-girlfriend claimed that Clarisse ‘had forced [her son] to smoke marijuana on several accessions,’ and allowed other people to give him alcohol, according to the document.

When interviewed by deputies, the child’s father stated that when he arrived at Clarisse’ home for a supervised visitation with his son, he noticed that the child appeared to be ‘slow’ and ‘lethargic.’

Later that same day, he confirmed that he was contacted by Clarisse’s ex-girlfriend, who told him about his son’s suspected marijuana consumption while in his mother’s care.

According to the boy’s father, Clarisse’ ex-girlfriend told him she had observed the 22-year-old smoking pot in front of her child on numerous occasions.

‘[She] also witnessed Ms Clarisse place a “wax pen’ which contained THC oil, into [the child’s] mouth forcing him to smoke it, in order to get him to sleep and eat,’ the affidavit stated.

Clarisse also allegedly left her son in the care of her housemates, who were known to drink excessively, and allowed people to give the toddler alcohol

Upon hearing this, the child’s dad called his attorney, who instructed him to contact the Department of Children and Families to report the incident.

The man called the agency and left a voicemail asking for someone to contact him, but he never got a call back.

Two days later, the man took his son to the Parrish Medical Center for drug testing, which determined that the two-year-old THC in his system, according to the affidavit.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the incident and sent deputies to investigate.

Unprompted, Clarisse allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana at home, but denied doing it in front of her son.

Her ex-girlfriend, however, told the deputies that since Clarisse turned 22 years old, ‘all she wanted to do was “party, drink and work in the club,”’ stated the court document.

Clarisse allegedly was in the habit of leaving her child in the care of her housemates who were known to drink excessively.

Her former lover told cops she had received a Snapchat message from Clarisse, in which she told her that her son had accidentally gotten hold of her vape pen containing THC oil and smokde it.

After that, Clarisse would put the vape pen in the boy’s mouth and allow him to smoke it to increase his appetite and sleep better, according to the affidavit.

Records indicate that Clarisse (pictured in her old mugshots) has been arrested at least seven times since 2017 on various charges, including DUI and marijuana possession.

The witness said she also received photos from Clarisse showing the child after using the vape pen, and a screenshot from a video showing the mom smoking THC next to her son.

Clarisse was allegedly afraid that her son’s doctor would detect THC in his system, prompting her to cancel at least two medical appointments in June and July, which meant he was not up to date on his immunizations.

Clarisse made her initial appearance on Wednesday and is due back in court for her arraignment on December 15.
