Imo market associations get new leaders

By Chris Njoku, Owerri

Imo State has constituted a new leadership for market associations in the state, known as Imo State Amalgamated Traders Association (ISAMATA).

ISAMATA, comprising 16 members, is led by Ezeanochie Emmanuel (President) and Donchris Okere (Secretary).

Commissioner for Commerce and Industry Simon Ebegbulem, who swore the executives in, urged them to enforce peace, order, revenue generation, sanitisation and other government reforms.

He warned members to avoid internal squabbles as the government would not hesitate to dissolve them for disorderly behaviour.

Ebegbulem advised them to be diligent as Governor Hope Uzodimma has entrusted them with the responsibility of piloting the markets and to ensure that government’s interests are protected always.
