Following the receipt of a report, officers of the Adamawa State Police Command busted a kidnapping syndicate and rescued two of their captives.
It was gathered that nine members of the syndicate were arrested and have been taken into police custody.
Confirming the report, the Adamawa police public relations officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, said two of the suspects who are from Dapshi in Yobe State came into Adamawa, recruited seven other members and formed the kidnapping syndicate.
He disclosed that the Police officers from the Song Police Division who stormed the kidnappers’ den, successfully rescued one Babawuro Damuwa and one Yarima Musa of Song town.
The names of the suspected kidnappers were given as Ndam Usai (29), Buba Adam (22), Buba Alim (39), Bodi Kulawal (25), Sale Musa (28), Babiri Gula (23), Abayel Ahmadu (28), Sani Muhd (24) and Abdullah Hassan (36).
The PPRO said they were arrested after they kidnapped and demanded the sum of N4 million ransom from the families of Babawuro and Yerima.
“Upon receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adeyanju, deployed combined operatives of police and hunters who eventually rescued the victims and apprehended the suspects.
”Findings so far reveal that the first and the second suspects came all the way from Yobe State and recruited the third to ninth suspects and they eventually formed a syndicate to be carrying out kidnapping activities,”
