The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has announced the appointment of two experienced professionals, Andy Odeh and Morenike Adewunmi, to head its Corporate Communications and Relations functions.

The move is part of the company’s strategy to deepen stakeholder engagement and strengthen its brand positioning.

In a statement released Tuesday in Abuja, the company confirmed that Odeh will serve as Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Adewunmi takes on the role of Chief Relations Officer.

Odeh brings over three decades of expertise in communications and business administration, including a 26-year career at Nigeria LNG, NLNG. At NLNG, he held leadership roles spanning corporate communications, community and government relations, public affairs, and regulatory compliance.

He rose to become General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development, where he oversaw corporate rebranding, established the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting, and pioneered a successful micro-credit scheme for host communities.

Odeh studied at the University of Jos, University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS.

Adewunmi, a lawyer, has more than 25 years of professional experience, largely gained during her time with Shell Companies in Nigeria, SCIN. She served in key positions including Regulatory Affairs Manager and Government Relations Manager, handling strategic engagements with the Presidency, ministries, regulators, and other stakeholders.

She is widely regarded for her expertise in stakeholder management, advocacy, and non-technical risk management, and is noted for her leadership and emotional intelligence. Adewunmi studied law at Olabisi Onabanjo University and the Nigerian Law School.

NNPCL described the appointments as a reflection of its commitment to effective communication and meaningful engagement with stakeholders, in line with its ongoing transformation agenda.
