National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Friday, September 25, arraigned social media influencer Afolabi Michael Kazeem, popularly known as KC Luxury, and his accomplices before a Federal High Court in Lagos over trafficking of 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine.
KC Luxury was arrested on August 13, at the departure hall of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while attempting to travel to Paris, France.
The NDLEA brought 49-year-old Kazeem, before Justice Musa Kakari alongside his accomplices, Boniface Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo.
All three defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The arrest and arraignment followed the seizure of 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine at a DHL facility in Ikeja, Lagos, with the agency claiming that Kazeem was connected to the shipment.
Kazeem alone pleaded not guilty to 21 of the 22-count charge bordering on illegal exportation and possession of hard drugs, as well as money laundering.
The first defendant, who deals in gold and luxury goods, has remained in the custody of the NDLEA since his arrest.
The court had earlier, on August 20, granted an order extending his detention for 30 days.
Following Friday’s proceedings, the court ordered that Kazeem and the two other defendants remain in NDLEA custody pending the determination of their bail applications.
Justice Kakari subsequently adjourned the matter until October 2, for ruling on the applications.
