Unknown gunmen have killed three farmers at the Sabon Layi community in the Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna tate.
Sources in the area said that the incident took place on Thursday.
Confirming the gunmen attack, Usman Kasai, Chairman of the Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), explained that the victims were working on their farm when the bandits struck suddenly.
Those killed were identified as Anas Sabonlayi, Abubakar Dankibiya, and Harisu Un-Guwar Lemu. They were residents of Sabon Layi, under the Kakangi Ward.
With the number of victims already killed, concerns are raising about possible follow up attacks by the gunmen.
Recall that a few weeks ago, the community witnessed a similar attack, leading to nine casualties among the villagers and causing many to relocate to other areas.
The state command Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Jaligo said he was yet to be informed about the incident.
