The fire service provided critical measures to adopt during and after a flood, amid heightened awareness of seasonal weather challenges.

What to do during a flood are:

Avoid areas subject to sudden flooding.

Do not attempt to cross rivers or flowing streams where water is above the knee.

Beware of water covered roads and bridges.

Do not go swimming or boating in swollen rivers.

What to do after a flood includes the Following:

Inspect your home for structural damage.

Dry out walls and furniture quickly.

    Seek medical help if unwell.
