Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has threatened that the United States (US) will experience severe damage and bombings if they support Israel in the ongoing conflict.

Khamenei confirmed this via a post on X on Wednesday, June 18 while replying US president, Donald Trump following his recent comments where he stated that Khamenei is an easy target.

Trump had earlier revealed on Tuesday, June 17 via a post on his Truth social media platform, stating that the US had complete and total control of the skies over Iran and referred to Khamenei as an easy target, while adding that the US had not yet decided to take action against him.

While responding to the comments made by Trump, Khamenei delivered a sharp rebuke both via social media and during a televised address on Wednesday, June 18

He said, “The US President threatens us. With his absurd rhetoric, he demands that the Iranian people surrender to him.

“But the Iranian nation isn’t frightened by such threats.

“They should make threats against those who are afraid of being threatened.”

Khamenei warned that any US military involvement in support of Israel would provoke a severe and destructive retaliation from Iran.

Adding that, “War will be met with war, bombing with bombing, and strike with strike.

“Iran will not submit to any demands or dictates.

“The damage the US will suffer will be irreparable.”

He also dismissed Trump’s demands of an unconditional surrender, stating that it unrealistic and surrender was out of the question.

Khamenei further stated that, “Intelligent people who know the nation and history of Iran will never speak to this nation in threatening language.

“The Iranian nation cannot be surrendered.”

He finally stated that the current conflict was instigated by Israel at a time when Iran was engaged in indirect diplomatic talks with the US.
