The Lagos state police command has increased security in the Lekki and Ajah areas, including Ogombo and Elemoro, to protect residents and their investments.
As part of this effort, some Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) have been reassigned, and a specialized unit, the Eko strike force, has been deployed to the area.
This action follows a recent clash between rival cult groups in Lekki Phase 1, which resulted in three deaths.
The incident, which occurred on Wole Olateju street, prompted a rapid response from the commissioner of police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, who led a police team to the scene.
The newly formed Anti-Cultism team was also deployed, leading to the arrest of several suspects and the recovery of exhibits, including an AK-47 rifle, one magazine, 14 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, one military camouflage car and other weapons.
A total of 25 suspects have been arrested in connection with the clash and subsequent raids on criminal hideouts.
The police command stated that the situation in the Lekki-Ajah axis is now under control and that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other individuals involved.
The command emphasized that crime in Lekki is not at an alarming level and reassured the public that it is committed to protecting lives and property.
Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the police.
