This was made known in a statement by the spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday. Babafemi said the suspect, Musa Muhammadu, was apprehended with explosives on Monday, May 22, along Wawa Road, Kainji, Niger State. He also stated that Muhammadu’s immediate transfer to the military has been ordered by NDLEA Chairman Mohamed Buba Marwa. In a related development, NDLEA agents also intercepted a shipment of 30.10 kg of methamphetamine bound for London, UK, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport’s SAHCO export shed in Lagos State. The agency also added that another shipment containing 379 grams of the same illicit substance concealed in the false bottom of six black soap containers, packed in a carton containing local hand fans, headed to Cyprus in Europe, was recovered at a courier company in Lagos.
