The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the disbursement of ₦6,972,000 to support 10 students of the African Aviation and Aerospace University in Abuja.
The registrar, Mustapha Abdul, announced this on Tuesday, September 2, stating that the fund was disbursed on Monday, 21 July, in support of our ten students.
The school stated, “We are pleased to announce the disbursement of ₦6,972,000.00 to 10 beneficiaries at African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, Nigeria, reaffirming its commitment to supporting educational institutions and empowering students.
“We deeply appreciate this timely intervention, which will significantly ease the financial burdens of our beneficiaries and enhance their ability to focus on their academic pursuit.”
The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) was created under the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act, which president Bola Tinubu signed into law on April 3.
Its purpose is to offer sustainable access to higher education and skill development for Nigerian youth.
During a briefing in Asaba on Monday, the Federal Government announced that it has disbursed over ₦59 billion to more than 600,000 students through NELFUND.
The director general of the National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, stated that the government is committed to ensuring that no qualified Nigerian is denied a tertiary education due to a lack of funds.
