Criminals fleeing from neighbouring states will not find refuge in Abia, the state Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, has said.
Isa gave the assurance on Friday during a joint press briefing with the governor’s Security Adviser, Navy Commander Macdonald Uba (retd.), at the Obingwa country home of Governor Alex Otti, shortly after this month’s Security Council Meeting chaired by the governor.
The commissioner explained that the routine monthly meeting was held “to appraise the security situation in the state, and to share and compare notes among various security agencies operating in Abia.”
He added, “Security agencies are on red alert to ensure that criminals on the run from the onslaughtǰ against them in neighbouring states cannot find any haven in Abia.”
Isa urged residents to continue volunteering useful information to security agencies whenever they observe suspicious movements.
Both Uba and Isa assured that Abia remains safe and secure, stressing that the government is not resting on its oars but will continue to improve on existing security measures.
