The Adamawa state police command has arrested 29 year old Isiaka Hassan in connection with the murder of a five year old boy in Tingno, located in Lamurde local government area.

The police public relations officer, Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed on Sunday, August 31, that a report was received from one Hadiza Bashiru, who stated that her five year old son, Abba Bashiru, had gone missing and was last seen with Isiaka Hassan.

“On the strength of that, the command’s operatives led by the divisional police officer, Tingno, swiftly led an operation and arrested the said Isiaka Hassan,”

Nguroje stated that the suspect had confessed to conspiring with one yet to be arrested accomplice to kill the boy.

Hassan said he and his accomplice, who is still at large, buried the boy in a shallow grave.

“The corpse was exhumed and taken to hospital for autopsy,” Nguroje said.

The Adamawa state commissioner of police, Dankombo Morris, had directed the state criminal investigation department to take over the case and ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspect.

“The command reassures members of the public of its commitment to ensure justice is served and calls for continued cooperation in the fight against violent crime across the State,” Nguroje concluded.
