President Bola Tinubu has appointed new chief executives for several national institutions, including the National Universities Commission (NUC), Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI), and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, a distinguished academic and visiting professor at the NUC, has been named its Executive Secretary.
With expertise in veterinary reproduction, he has previously served as Vice-Chancellor at both the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and Sule Lamido University in Jigawa State.
The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council will be headed by Prof. Salisu Shehu as its Executive Secretary.
A seasoned expert in educational and human psychology, he played a key role in founding Bayero University Kano’s School of Continuing Education and has held the position of Vice-Chancellor at Al-Istiqamah University, Kano.
Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri has been appointed as National Coordinator of NEPAD.
An experienced administrator with a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Tsauri has extensive knowledge of legislative processes, global governance, and public administration.
The SMDF/PAGMI will be led by Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani as its Executive Secretary.
A graduate of the University of Hertfordshire with qualifications in Business Administration and Management, Danfulani has a solid background in banking, commerce, and public service, including previous roles at the Central Bank of Nigeria and as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State.
President Tinubu expressed optimism that the appointees’ wealth of experience and proven track records would drive transformative progress in their respective institutions, aligning with the aspirations of Nigerians.
