Tuokpe Onuwaje, the estranged wife of former presidential aide Reno Omokri, has accused him of abandoning the special needs son while prioritizing his addiction for social media.
Tuokpe took to her social media to call him out saying that his absence in his children’s life is negatively impacting them.
The pair tied the knot on June 12, 2004 but both have since gone their separate ways.
They share three children together.
In September 2024, Tuokpe, a school teacher, had accused Reno of domestic violence.
She claimed she tolerated physical abuse in their marriage, alleging that Omokri’s assault left her with a swollen jaw, ruptured eardrums, and weeks of pain.
On Monday, Tuokpe resumed her accusation of Reno, claiming he has not seen the child since June 2024 while giving preferential attention to the boy’s siblings.
In a Facebook post, she challenged Omokri to move beyond photo ops and prioritise real life, urging him to spend meaningful time with their son.
“Reno Omokri Stop showing up just for photo ops—show up for real life. Our son with special needs is waiting for quality time with his dad, not just the fleeting visits you do with his siblings,” she wrote.
“You haven’t seen nor spent time with your son since June 2024! Over a year!
“Prioritize meaningful moments over social media validation. Be present, be involved, and be a constant in your children’s lives.
“Real parenting happens in everyday moments, not just in staged photos. Put down the camera!”
Reno had abandoned Tuokpe whom he married in Nigeria in both traditional and church ceremonies before their relocation to the United States.
He would later abandon her after 14 years of marriage and their three children and absconded to the United Kingdom where he began hibernating with an Ethiopian woman named Hanna whom he calls his ‘wife,’.
The two welcomed a child Weyimi Ebele in 2021, named after his former boss, Good luck Jonathan.
