Tinubu appoints former Nasarawa gov, Tanko Al-Makura chairman UBEC

    President Bola Tinubu has appointed Tanko Umaru Al-Makura, the former governor of Nasarawa state as the new chairman of the governing board of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).

    Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education made this announcement during the launch of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development project.

    Al-Makura, a seasoned businessman and politician, is widely recognized for leading various development initiatives in Nasarawa state.

    UBEC, a federal intervention agency under the Ministry of Education, oversees the disbursement of counterpart funding to support basic education throughout the nation.
