President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday declared that his administration has already achieved its annual revenue target, driven largely by non-oil earnings.

He said the government no longer borrows from local banks, stressing that the priority now is job creation and economic growth.

Speaking at the Presidential Villa while receiving a delegation of The Buhari Organization, TBO, comprising members of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change, CPC, Tinubu assured his supporters that the economy has stabilised and urged them not to be intimidated ahead of the 2027 elections.

He recalled the political alliance that birthed the APC, describing it as a partnership built on disagreement, resilience, and shared vision.

The President pledged to continue Buhari’s legacy of honesty and justice while promising to integrate loyal CPC members who had not yet received appointments, particularly through upcoming ambassadorial postings.

He highlighted ongoing agricultural mechanisation projects as central to achieving food security and defeating poverty.

Tinubu insisted his reforms are steering Nigeria on the right path, noting that no one trades a piece of paper for exchange rate anymore and affirming that hunger reduction remains key to poverty alleviation.

On their part, the delegation led by former Nasarawa State Governor Senator Tanko Al-Makura reaffirmed unwavering loyalty to the President. Al-Makura praised Tinubu’s leadership during difficult economic times and his respect for Buhari’s legacy, stressing that the CPC bloc would mobilise nationwide support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, echoed this position, emphasising that over 90 percent of CPC pioneers remain united behind Tinubu. He commended the President’s historic political partnership with Buhari and pledged that CPC structures across the country would ensure APC’s electoral victory in 2027.

The delegation included former ministers, governors, lawmakers, party executives, and women leaders from the CPC fold.
