A yet-to-be-identified protester has been killed on Thursday, July 1, in Suleja, Niger State, as hoodlums hijacked the ongoing nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest from Niger youths.
A source said that the planned protest, which initially began with just 25 youths in Suleja, was initially peaceful, until some hoodlums popularly called “Yangogoni” (Scanvengers), hijacked the protest turning the procession into violence.
Some youths were said to be have been injured in the process.
It is said that the victim’s body has been deposited at the mortuary, while they find out his identity.
