The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has reported that two people lost their lives, while another sustained injuries in a fatal accident along the Ota-Idiroko Expressway, near the Chelsea area.
Adekunle Ajibade, TRACE’s South-West Area Commander, confirmed the incident during an interview on Saturday, July 26.
According to Ajibade, the crash occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, and involved a truck and a commercial motorcycle carrying four passengers.
He explained that the motorcycle, with registration number KTU 643 QQ, lost control due to excessive speeding and collided with a Howo truck.
The impact resulted in the death of two passengers, while the rider sustained injuries.
“The corpses of the victims have been deposited at Ifo General Hospital, Ogun, while the injured person was taken to Ota General Hospital for treatment,” he said.
Ajibade confirmed that the truck involved in the incident has been removed from the road to restore smooth traffic flow in the area.
He urged both motorists and motorcyclists to remain patient on the road and avoid excessive speeding to reduce the risk of preventable accidents.
