Two male pedestrians whose names were not given have lost their lives following a hit-and-run accident that occured near Kara Bus Stop on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
The state’s police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed that the incident took place on Thursday, December 26.
She noted that the incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m on Thursday, December 26 as the victims were trying to cross the expressway carelessly when they were hit by unidentified vehicles.
Odutola also stated that the victims were taken to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu, Ogun, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
She said, “The accident occurred at a point on the Isheri-Olofin corridor when the victims attempted to cross the expressway without a thorough view of the speeding vehicles.
“The vehicles rammed into the two victims and sped off.
“Their bodies have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.
“Efforts are ongoing to identify the victims and apprehend the fleeing drivers.”
