The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has said that his counterparts from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, are not competent to become the nation’s president in 2023.

Tinubu, while making this known on Tuesday, December 6, described himself as the only qualified candidate for the country’s top seat in 2023.

The former governor of Lagos state said that none of the top contenders has the track record to compete with him in the forthcoming polls.

He said that, “Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are not competent.

“They are not as competent as me. They’ve no track record, none of them are qualified to be president in 2023,” he added.

Tinubu also expressed optimism that next year’s polls will be free and fair, The Nation reports.

He said that, “Things are going very well. I’m very, very confident that this election will be free and fair.

“’I’m the frontrunner and that’s why I’m getting attacked by people.

“My top priorities are security, and economic recovery to get accelerated development to get Nigerians employed and get inflation down.

“You know, monetary policy needs to be changed. Subsidy needs to be decided upon and then removed.

“Insecurity in Nigeria is actually reduced and I will defend him (Buhari) for that.

“To start chaos is easy, but to bring normalcy is more difficult. Buhari has degraded ISWAP but he has not completely eliminated ISWAP.

“We need mass recruitment of individuals into the army to really clean up this mess.

“I’m different. I am Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I have governed Lagos. I built a modern state that could be a country on its own.

“I’ve led an administration that’s so prudent from N600 million internally generated revenue (IGR) to N5 billion a month.

“That’s a record, nobody else can brag about that. I’ve treated and tamed the Atlantic Ocean surge in Nigeria that would have killed so many people in Lagos.

“The infrastructural renewal of Lagos state is excellent. As a result of my efforts, there is continuity in Lagos today.

“I have an example of Warren Buffett, one of the richest men in the world. He started from stock buying and brokerages.

“I inherited great real estate. I turned the values around. I’m not denying my wealth.

“I was the most investigated, the most accused governor up in Nigeria for eight years.

“Since 2007, I’m still here and I’ve not taken any government appointments or contracts.

“I’m not getting any share of revenue from Lagos state and this has been confirmed by the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) after investigations,” he added.
