Barely one month to the 2023 general election, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba, has deployed two new commissioners of police to Lagos and Ogun states, in a bid to boost security in the states during and after the elections.
The posting of the police commissioners was signed by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) secretary, AIG Hafiz Inuwa, on Thursday, January 26, according to News Makers.
The new commissioners include Frank Mba and Idowu Owohunwa.
According to the IGP, Mba will replace Lanre Bankole in Ogun state, while Owohunwa will replace Abiodun Alabi in Ogun state.
Similarly, Alabi, who just celebrated a year in office as the commissioner of police in Lagos state, recently got a new posting to serve in another state.
Owohunwa, who hails from Kogi state, holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Studies from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.
Mba, a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), is an alumnus of the University of Dundee, Scotland, where he earned a master’s degree in law.
