Terrorists struck again in Bundu Kahugu community, Lere local government area of Kaduna state on Monday, December 29, killing three residents and abducting three others.
Ishaya Dauda, the national secretary of Bundu Kahugu community, confirming the incident on Tuesday, said the terrorists utilized the cover of darkness to terrorize the village as the attack began around 11:00 pm.
He said the terrorists shot indiscriminately before escaping with three residents.
He identified those killed as Felix Augustine, Luka Yakubu, and Ezra Namata.
Dauda disclosed that the latest violence followed a similar attack on the community less than two weeks earlier, during which four people were killed.
He said the repeated attacks had heightened fear among residents and exposed security gaps in the area.
Residents have appealed to the Kaduna state government and security agencies to urgently deploy military personnel to the community to prevent further attacks and protect lives.
They also called on telecommunications service providers to improve network coverage in the area, noting that poor communication infrastructure has made it difficult to alert security agencies during emergencies and has aided the attackers’ escape.
