The women farmers were given 20 pieces of five-week-old noiler chicks each, one 25kg bag of feed, and a 100g of multivitamins in addition to the training on poultry management. General Manager of the Foundation, Oludare Odusanya, while speaking at the official distribution at the Bauchi State Agricultural Development Program on Tuesday, said that the project aimed at supporting women and rural livelihoods in the state. “We believe that by investing in our community, particularly in the hands of resilient and enterprising women, we are sowing the seeds for a brighter, more prosperous future in Bauchi State. “Through this project, 300 carefully selected women have been allocated 20 noiler birds each, a bag of specially formulated feed and essential multivitamin to support sustainable poultry farming.” He said that the initiative was not only about providing resources but also about fostering independence, resilience, and economic empowerment within the community. “Poultry farming has proven to be a transformative venture, offering not only a sustainable source of income but also promoting food security and fostering a sense of community cohesion. “By providing these resources, we aim to uplift the women of Bauchi State, providing them with the tools and knowledge to build thriving businesses that will contribute to the overall prosperity of our community.” The Commissioner of Agriculture, Prof Simon Madugu Yalam, appreciated the Foundation for the intervention, saying that it’s part of the government’s mission to expand the state’s economy through agriculture. He expressed the government’s readiness to partner with development organisations to revive the sector.
