Eight residents have been killed, and four others are missing, following attacks by Boko Haram terrorists on three villages in Hong Local Government Area (LGA) of Adamawa state on Monday, December 29.
The terrorists stormed Zah, Kijing, and Mubang villages at night, destroying houses and forcing residents to flee their homes.
The chairman of Hong LGA, Inuwa Usman Wa’aganda, in a satememt on Tuesday said the overnight raid marks the third wave of violence in the area during the Christmas season, following earlier strikes on Mayo Ladde and Garaha districts.
He revealed that the terrorists destroyed numerous houses and business premises before security forces could respond.
“Boko Haram attacked Mubang, Zah, and Kijing villages in Hong.
“For now, eight corpses have been recovered from the three villages, and four persons are still missing,” he said.
Security agencies have since been deployed to the affected areas to prevent further incidents and provide protection to displaced residents.
