Ogun state governor Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday, April 16, presented senator Solomon Adeola to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus governorship candidate for the stste.
In a statement, Abiodun described the move as a reflection of the party’s commitment to continuity, unity, and sustained development in the state.
“Our leader, Baba Segun Osoba, and I yesterday had the privilege of informally presenting our consensus governorship candidate, senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, to our national leader and father of the nation, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Abiodun said.
“The president was very pleased and extended his appreciation to the Ogun state APC family for being the first state in Nigeria to record such a peaceful, inclusive, and rancour-free selection process, and also demonstrating a high level of political maturity worthy of emulation.”
The development marks a key step in the APC’s preparations for the upcoming governorship election in Ogun state.
