Dangote Petroleum Refinery has adjusted the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, commonly called petrol, to ₦899.50 per litre.
The announcement was made on Thursday by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, through an official statement.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of its Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, product to below ₦900 per litre to provide much-needed relief for Nigerians ahead of the holiday season,” Chiejina stated.
Africa’s first privately-owned refinery had earlier lowered its petrol price to ₦970 per litre on November 24. This latest adjustment aims to reduce transportation costs during the festive season.
Alongside the price cut, the refinery has introduced a special incentive for consumers. Customers who purchase petrol with cash will be eligible to buy an additional litre on credit, secured by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at ₦899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or Single Point Mooring, SPM, facility,” Chiejina said.
He reiterated the refinery’s commitment to offering Nigerians high-quality petroleum products at competitive prices, ensuring they are both environmentally safe and engine-friendly.
Chiejina also pointed out the positive effect of the refinery’s operations on the Nigerian market, bringing an end to the nation’s reliance on substandard and mixed imported fuel products.
These low-quality imports have long posed risks to public health, machinery, and the environment.
The price reduction and the introduction of unique consumer incentives reflect Dangote Refinery’s dedication to easing the financial strain on Nigerians during the holiday season, while also setting new benchmarks for product quality and service excellence.
