Akwa Ibom State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Udom Emmanuel, has called on the G-22, made up of governorship aspirants who lost in the party’s primary election, to return and put aside their grievances.
Emmanuel made the appeal as the PDP officially began its campaign in the state for the 2015 elections.
Unveiling his manifesto, which he said is a five-agenda road map for the industrialisation of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel pledged to create the enabling environment to engage youths productively.
He also extended an invitation to the G-22 to “come home” and join him to move the state forward, since the umbrella of the party remains large enough to accommodate all of them and there was no gain in rancour.
Emmanuel thanked all party leaders and stakeholders at all levels that have championed his governorship bid, and prayed that their support would ultimately bring success to the state.
He declared his readiness and commitment to delivering on the high expectations of the people and implored them to vote for the PDP, as there is no better option.
On his part, Governor Godswill Akpabio urged Akwa Ibom people who have trusted him for eight years to believe in Emmanuel, whom he described as the best among the pack to lead Akwa Ibom to the next phase of uncommon transformation.
