President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday, February 13, supervised the swearing-in of the three newly elected senators during plenary.
The lawmakers are, Prince Pam Mwadkon (Action Democratic Party, ADP, Plateau North); Professor Anthony Ani (All Progressives Congress, APC, Ebonyi South), and Mustapha Musa (All Progressives Congress, APC, Yobe East).
The oath-taking was administered by the Clerk of the Senate, Chinedu Akubueze as they were subsequently led to their respective seats after the swearing-in.
It will be recalled that twelve new members representing various Federal Constituencies at the House of Representatives had on Thursday, February 8, taken their oath of office and allegiance, following their victories in the recently concluded parliamentary re-run elections across Nigeria.
A total of 15 candidates were victorious at the election, but 12 winners were on the floor of the lower legislative chamber for their swearing-in at a session presided over by the Speaker of the House, Abbas Tajudeen.
Of the fifteen, seven are of the All Progressives Congress, APC, five from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, three from the Young Progressives Party, YPP, and one from the Labour Party, LP.
They were Umar Garba (Ngaski/Shanta/Yauri Federal Constituency, Kebbi State-APC),
Ifeoluwa Ehindero (Akoko North East/North West of Ondo State-APC) Faud Laguna (Surulere 1 Federal Constituency, Lagos State- APC), Saleh Zock (Kachia/Kangaroo Federal Constituency, Kaduna State-APC), Rabiu Kamba (Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency, Kebbi State- APC), Emil Inyang (Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency Cross River State- APC) and Yusuf Tafoki (Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa of Katsina State- APC),
Others were Adamu Yakubu (Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency of Jigawa state-PDP), Yusuf Yabo (Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency of Sokoto State-PDP), Husseini Jallo (Igabi Federal. Constituency, Kaduna State-PDP), Mohammed Jajere (Fune/Fune Federal constituency of Yobe State-PDP).
Other new members of the Green Chamber were Daniel Ago (Jos North/Bases federal constituency of Plateau state-LP), Emma Udo (Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State-YPP), Peter Uzokwe (Nnewi North/Nnewi South Federal Constituency of Anambra state-YPP) and Chinwe Nnabuife (Orumba North/Orumba South Federal Constituency of (Anambra State- YPP).
