The leaders of Alor community in Anambra State jointly agreed to bury a young man alive because he had the same title as an older Chief.
According to the report, the young man, simply identified as Olisa was conferred a title that already belonged to an older Chief, Ichie Ngene.
Upset by the development, the leaders gave Olisa a period of six months to renounce the title.
He however refused which prompted the community to ‘bury’ him alive in a ceremony witnessed by top decision-makers of the town and the Ichie whose title he bore.
In a video making the rounds on social media, a coffin with Olisa’s name inscribed on it can be seen placed on a wheelbarrow which was rolled to an already dug grave.
The coffin was later placed in the grave which was covered by some youths.
