Another son of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, Prince Alhaji Abdul-Ganiy Adeniyi Adeyemi, has died.

Sources confirmed that the prince passed away on Wednesday, November 5, after a brief illness. He was laid to rest the same day in accordance with Islamic rites.

His death comes nearly two years after the passing of his brother, Prince Alhaji Abdulfatai Adebayo Adeyemi, popularly known as D-Gov, who died in December 2023 at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, just a day before his birthday.

The Adeyemi royal family has once again been plunged into mourning, following the loss of their patriarch, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the 45th Alaafin of Oyo, who passed away on April 22, 2022, at the age of 83.

The 8th-day Fidau prayer for the late Prince Abdul-Ganiy Adeniyi Adeyemi is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 12, in Ibadan.
