Armed robber on Tuesday invaded the palace of the Emir of Minna, Umar Farouk Bahago in broad daylight, shooting their way through and carting away an undisclosed amount of money.
The criminals were said to have followed an unsuspecting staff of the palace who was sent to the bank to withdraw an undisclosed amount.
A source explained to that the armed robbers drove into the palace with a private car and shot at the two palace guards who dared to block their way.
The source also claimed that the respected Emir was in the palace while the bandits shot indiscriminately to scare people away before they succeeded in carting away an undisclosed amount of money he said belonged to the Minna Emirate.
But the two injured palace guards were immediately taken to Minna General Hospital for medical attention.
The source claimed that the criminals subdued the might of the vigilante group providing security to the palace, following a serious gun battle.
The Niger State Police Command had yet to issue any official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
