Former presidential aide, Jackson Ude, has been added to the Nigerian Army’s most-wanted list amid serious allegations.
Ude was a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
He faces accusations of attempting to destabilize Nigeria’s democratically elected government and stirring unrest within the nation.
Recently, Ude sparked public anger by disseminating false information that Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja had passed away, while also encouraging a military coup.
Concerned authorities further accuse him of supporting insurgent groups, including Boko Haram and bandits, which have contributed to security challenges in Nigeria.
Additionally, he is alleged to have stolen gold reserves from the Central Bank of Libya, a matter currently under investigation by Libyan officials.
Despite residing in the United States, Ude actively uses X (formerly Twitter) to post unverified allegations against the Nigerian government and high-ranking officials.
It was gathered that a governor from the northwestern region and several retired military generals are providing financial backing to Ude, raising concerns about the reach of his influence.
