The final of the 19th edition of the African U-20 Championship, Senegal 2015 will see hosts Senegal and Nigeria do battle in the final on Sunday, March 22, 2015 while the third place match, which will take place on the same day, will see Ghana and Mali do it again.
It’ll be a revenge for both Ghana and Senegal but both Mali and Nigeria will aim for a double.
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria started their journey in the AYC 2015 with a convincing 3-1 victory over host, Senegal and it’s now obvious that Senegal will have another opportunity in the tournament to seek revenge over the smooth playing and unstoppable Nigerians who have without doubt shown the world a taste of what to expect at the world stage.
In the first semifinal, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria got a 2-0 victory over West African rivals, Ghana who they’ve beaten twice within weeks. In the second semifinal, host Senegal stunned favorites Mali 2-1 on Thursday, March 19, 2015 to reach the final and a rare chance to face Nigeria.
The top four teams in the AYC 2015 have all secured a FIFA U20 World Cup ticket scheduled to take place in New Zealand, however in the final of AYC 2015 set for Sunday, March 22 will give Senegal and Nigeria to meet again.
Will Nigeria do a double over the host or will Senegal step up when it matters most?
Mali who topped Group B with maximum nine points will face Ghana who they defeated by a lone goal.
