Adedeji Adeleke, father of Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on Wednesday, January 21, revealed that Ayo Labinjoh, who claims Davido fathered her child, confessed to his cousin, Dr Sikiru Adeleke, that she was in a relationship with a light-skinned banker in Ibadan who refused a DNA test.

According to Adeleke, Labinjoh, who was enrolled in the English Language department at Adeleke University, confided in Sikuru, who works at Adeleke University and was in charge of where she did her work-study program .

“She told Sikiru, when asked how she doesn’t know who she got pregnant for, that there is another person who works in a bank in Ibadan, and also shared the pictures.

“He asked her why she didn’t do a DNA test with the guy, but she said the guy said he is already married and he doesn’t want his wife to know anything about this.

Adeleke further explained that his cousin, Sikiru, had advised Labinjoh to take the matter to court to compel the Ibadan-based banker to undergo a DNA test.

According to him, a confrontation later occurred in August, 2023 at his sister, Esther Adeleke’s house, where Labinjoh was questioned in the presence of her own mother about the other man.

When asked why she continued to insist Davido was the father despite five negative DNA results, the mother and daughter left the house in anger.

Adeleke stated that following this incident, Labinjoh withdrew from school but has continued to receive a monthly stipend of ₦50,000 until October 2025 because Sikiru had inadvertently left her name on the payroll.
