Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has removed five Commissioners from his cabinet in a bid to revamp governance and improve service delivery across the state.
The affected Commissioners are Dr. Jamila Mohammed Dahiru (Education), Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu (Internal Security and Home Affairs), Comrade Usman Danturaki (Information and Communication), Professor Simon Madugu Yalams (Agriculture), and Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza (Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation).
In a statement released on Tuesday by Mukhtar Gidado, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the cabinet reshuffle was described as a routine step to enhance administrative efficiency. The move is part of the Governor’s strategy to inject fresh perspectives and energy into his administration, ensuring it remains responsive to emerging challenges.
Governor Mohammed expressed his gratitude to the outgoing Commissioners for their commitment and contributions to the state’s development. He acknowledged their roles in advancing key projects and policies of his administration and wished them success in their future endeavors, confident that they would continue to serve the state and nation in meaningful ways.
Meanwhile, the Governor has forwarded the names of new nominees to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for security screening and confirmation as Commissioners. The nominees include Hon. Isa Babayo Tilde (Toro LGA), Abdullahi Mohammed (Misau LGA), Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi (Dass LGA), Usman Usman Shehu (Shira LGA), and Iliyasu Aliyu Gital (Tafawa Balewa LGA).
Others are Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah (Tafawa Balewa LGA), Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin (Darazo LGA), and Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam (Toro LGA).
This development underscores the Governor’s commitment to strengthening his team and advancing the state’s growth agenda.
