The Archdiocese of Kaduna has announced the abduction of a Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal, after armed men, believed to be bandits, stormed the Kushe Gugdu community in Kagarko Local Government Area in the early hours of Monday.

Rev. Fr. Paschal, who serves as the Parish Priest of St. Stephen’s Parish, was taken from his residence during the attack, which also saw several villagers kidnapped.

In a statement released on Monday, the Chancellor of the Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Christian Okewu Emmanuel, confirmed the incident and disclosed that the brother of another priest, Rev. Fr. Anthony Yero, was killed by the attackers.

Describing the development as heartbreaking, Emmanuel urged the Catholic faithful and the wider public to join the Church in praying for the safe return of those abducted and for comfort for the bereaved.

He noted that the Archdiocese is facing a painful moment and called on the public to lift the affected families in prayer, hoping for quick release and healing.
